On International Jazz Day, we invite you to a concert by a Czech-Polish ensemble in Bohumín.

Kahoma Trio is a Czech ensemble playing improvised music. Their music is based primarily on song forms with elements of rubato and timbre. KT utilizes the natural properties of acoustic instruments, and the trio’s music is also open to experimentation. Their latest and debut album, In the Woods, received very positive reviews from critics in the Czech Republic (M. Bátor, J. Hocek) and abroad (A. Baruch). The album also received a nomination for the Jantar Music Award of the Moravian-Silesian Region in the popular music category. Kahoma Trio has performed numerous concerts in jazz clubs and at jazz festivals in the Czech Republic and abroad.
Marcin Żupański is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in saxophones, flutes, and bass clarinet. He graduated from the Faculty of Jazz and Popular Music at the Academy of Music in Katowice. He holds a Doctor of Fine Arts in instrumental studies. He is a laureate of awards including Jazz Juniors and other jazz competitions. He is a composer, arranger, and musician, actively involved in the Polish and international music scenes, leading his own projects and collaborating with numerous jazz and ethnic groups. His portfolio includes performances at numerous international jazz festivals and collaborations with world-class stars such as Ron Carter and Ronie Cuber, as well as Polish musicians such as Marek Grechuta, Grzegorz Turnau, Stanisław Sojka, Beata Przybytek, Jose Torres, Janusz Muniak, Urszula Dudziak, Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski, Piotr Wojtasik, Marek Bałata, Kazimierz Jonkisz, Apostolis Anthimos, and many others. He has been teaching for many years, currently as an assistant professor at the Institute of Musical Arts at the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences, University of Silesia in Katowice.
