AUKSO. Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy – one of the best chamber orchestras in Europe, the undisputed leader of ensembles of this type in Poland. Poland’s showcase in the world for almost 20 years. AUKSO – established by a group of graduates of the Academy of Music in Katowice together with Marek Moś, an outstanding violinist, conductor and chamber musician, was from the beginning intended to be an area for artistic exploration and creative development, joint creation of the highest quality art.
The name AUKSO, from Greek – growth – became the band’s motto. It refers to the aspirations of the musicians who create it, and at the same time sets the direction of their professional path. It talks about the need for improvement and consistency, about taking up challenges and being open. Educational projects undertaken by AUKSO fit into this idea. Since 2000, the “AUKSO Summer Philharmonic” has been held in Podlasie, hosted by the orchestra. In the unique atmosphere of one of the most beautiful corners of Poland, master classes, open rehearsals and concerts are organized, attracting young musicians and music lovers from all over the country.
