Przemysław Chmiel Quartet to one of the most interesting improvising groups of the young generation. The album The band’s debut album received excellent reviews, was selected by the best of the best albums of 2020, and was also nominated for the FRYDERYK awards. The publication was released by the Listen! Foundation. The leader’s composition quartet, arranged on the one hand with pieces and fragments of the composition, on the other hand preceding the opening, lingered to aesthetics, due to improvisation. In their art, the musicians pay equal attention to what belongs to its great history in jazz, as well as to everything that brings with it the styles of improvisation, which are not restricted by drums.

The winner of the PRIMUS INTER PARES medal of the Academy of Music Karol Szymanowski – an honorary award for the best master of 2021 – for achievements, achievements and the goal of graduation. Winner of the First Place in the solo category for the 2020 Blue Note Poznań Competition. Winner of the 1st place in the “Nowa Hope of Jazz” competition, as part of the XIII NOVUM Jazz Festival. Winner of the 2nd place at the IX International Jazz Improvisation Competition in Katowice in 2019. Winner of the First Prize in the Solo category at Tarnów Jazz Contest 2018. Together with his author Przemysław Chmiel Quartet won 2nd place at the 2018 Blue Note Poznań Competition, and as a member of Natalia Kordiak’s band, she won 2nd place at the Tarnów Jazz Contest 2017.
In 2019, two albums with the participation of Przemysław Chmiel were released. The first is “Bajka” by Natalia Kordiak Quintet. The premiere of the album – released by the Slovak Hevhetia label – took place in Prague, Czech Republic, as part of the Voicingers on Tour festival. “Bajka” has received great reviews, was included in many lists of the best albums of 2019 and was nominated for the “Fryderyk” award in the “phonographic debut of the year – jazz” category. The second album is “Word on T.” by Sabina Meck Sextet (SJRecords). The album also received great reviews and was recognized as one of the best vocal albums of 2019. Przemysław Chmiel has performed on the stages of international festivals: NiCa Jazz in Alcanadre in Spain and Voicingers on Tour in Prague, Czech Republic. In Poland, Przemysław Chmiel could be heard at festivals such as Jazz Jantar in Gdańsk, Jazztrzęba or Jazz w Ruinach, as well as at the most important jazz clubs.
