Know Material is an unusual instrumental quartet of the young generation of 2023. became finalists of several significant jazz competitions, including: Jazz nad Odrą, JazzJuniors (2nd place), Klucz do Kariery im. Marek Karewicza (Grand Prix), Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa (Grand Prix), and also recorded their debut live album entitled “now you know”.
Know Material’s repertoire consists mainly of songs by Kajetan Skoneczny. The band takes its listeners on a journey through the entire range of feelings – from powerlessness to carefreeness, with interwoven themes of self-discovery. The songs are a story about the contrasts between helplessness and melancholy, and joy, strength and constant self-discovery. They reflect the thoughts that most young people face today.
