IREK GŁYK VIBES EXPRESSION solo 50th Birthday Tour 

A valued vibraphone player and drummer, composer and arranger.

He has been interested in music since childhood, he graduated with honors from the Secondary Music School of Karol Szymanowski in Katowice. He studied at the Jazz and Popular Music Department of the Academy of Music in Katowice, He got scholarship of the famous Berklee College of Music in Boston. Winner of many awards at competitions and festivals – starting with winning the International Jazz Improvisation Competition in Katowice (1990). In 1994, he founded his Ireneusz Głyk Quartet (Adam Kowalewski – bass, Krzysztof Dziedzic – drums, Marek Podkowa – saxophone, leader – vibraphone). The band was successful on the jazz scene, winning, among others 2nd place at the 19th International Competition of Young Groups in Krakow. In the Jazz Forum poll, Irek Głyk is hailed as the hope of the Polish vibraphone, winning third place in the category of this instrument. A few years later, he starts performing in a duet with Bernard Maseli (vibraphone – marimba duets). Since 2009, Irek Głyk has led his family band P.I.K. in which he played with his children: Patryk Głyk on drums, Irek Głyk – vibraphone and Kinga Głyk – bass guitar. In 2017, he began working as a drummer in his daughter Kinga’s band, giving concerts with her in many prestigious venues around the world. Currently, he has released his third original vibraphone album entitled: “IREK GŁYK VIBES EXPRESSION”. Moreover, Irek Głyk is a valued session musician who has collaborated with the leaders of Polish jazz and rock. Stanisław Sojka, Justyna Steczkowska, Paweł Kukiz, Reni Jusis, Natalia Niemen, Ireneusz Dudek, Mieczysław Szcześniak, Jorgos Skolias, Katarzyna Gertner, Ewa Uryga, Anthimos Apostolis, SBB, Krzak, Tomasz Stańko, Tomasz Szukalski, Paweł Tomaszewski, Maciek Sikała, Piotr Wojtasik, Grzegorz Kapołka, Bronisław Duży, Grażyna Łobaszewska, Marek Bałata, Wojtek and Jacek Niedziela, Etienne Mbpee, Ruth Lynch, Junior Robinson – these are just some of the characters with whom he had the opportunity to perform and record together. He has performed on stages in Poland and abroad (USA, Germany, France, Denmark, Italy, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Austria, Norway, Indonesia, Portugal, Romania, Switzerland, Spain, Hungary, Belarus, Lithuania. As a session musician, Irek Głyk has recorded for many famous artists. His original albums: “Long Time”, “Step Ahead”, “IREK GŁYK VIBES EXPRESSION”
